All porttraits are original, one of a kind, and hand painted in acrylics on stone. Some are 3D, or "in the round" and some are painted "portrait" style on a flat stone.

Sharon Orf has always felt a spiritual "oneness" with nature. After reading Lin Welford's book, "Painting Animals on Rocks", she was inspired to combine her spiritualism and new-found artistic skills with her love of animals. Her passion is reflected in her Stone Art which unites the spirit of the stone and the spirit of the animal. Her ability to touch the spirit world of both the stone and the animal is dramatically reflected in the portraits she creates. This blend of emotions transforms into something the viewer can comprehend and enjoy. She strongly believes in spiritual and natural healing, Native American symbolism and spiritualism, the positive effects of art on the universe, and capturing the soul of her subjects with paint. In her eagerness to increase awareness of our natural environment, she has donated many of her pieces to assist animal rescues and wildlife sanctuaries.
